Computer Techs I need some help.
Here is the problem:

I have two clients at seperate locations with seperate networks. Client A is having problems emailing 1 user at client B. They can email every other user at client B except the one they really need to email his name is Pat. Client A does not get a bounce that the email was undeliverable and Pat at client B never gets the email. It just appears to be lost in the ether. Both clients use Exchange 2000 and Outlook.

I have checked rules, spam filters, everything I could think of. Does anyone know of a way to trace the email path?

1. " Both clients use Exchange 2000 and Outlook"
That's your problem right there. Here's how to fix it:

1. Uninstall Exchange 2000 and remove Outlook from everyone's PCs.

2. Install sendmail and a web front-end (squirrelmail works great), or install Mozilla, which comes with an email client.

3. Enjoy not getting viruses and worms.

2. Have you tried
looking to see if Pat's allotted space (quota) is all filled up?
send another e-mail and see what's written on the e-mail headers <---that's the only way that I know how to trace e-mail.

4. Quotas aren't enabled
Client A is the only person he is having a problem with. He can send and recieve to everyone else but them.

5. I wonder if I can still do this from memory...
Then again it's not a mail server it's M$ and Outlook.

From the senders network telnet to port 110 of the other mail server. You should be prompted for some information like who your trying to get mail to. Then you manualy type in a mesage, subject, body etc.

Damn...it's been a long time since I've done trouble shooting on mail servers...

some help over here!

6. Check the listing in the person's address book
I know it sounds obvious, but they could have set the name up wrong in the address book.
