Poll question: So you've found the perfect partner, BUT....
So fate, or maybe a magic genie, presents you with a partner that's perfect in every way you could imagine. Everything you've ever dreamed of, except she or he will never, ever hop in the sack with you for all your days.

What do you do? Is that a deal-breaker?

1. So we can never hop in a sack.
That's fine. There's always the kitchen counter, bathroom, desk, floor, closet, couch, chairs, dining room table, stairs, etc. What's so great about having to do it in a sack all the time.

No sex would be the deal breaker.

2. Willingness to
hop in the sack would be part of the "perfection". Hence, unwillingness would mean she wasn't/isn't perfect for me.

3. But if that is PART of the dream (and it would be for me)...
..then she isn't the perfect woman of my dreams, is she?

7. If it's a matter of couldn't
There's more ways than one to satisfy a partner. If the person is unwilling, that drops them off the perfect list. I'd pass in that case.

I'm a woman.

8. Been there. Done that. Over. And Over.
And over ... and OUT.

No sex, no partnership. I've been used by too many women to allow that to happen again. Such behavior and "deals" are done by women who conflate sexuality with power, an unhealthy mix in any relationship involving any gender. I can deal with her having extracurricular liasons better than being the object of an embargo.

Imagine, if you will, being with someone who will do anything with you except eat dinner -- s/he always does that with other friends. Or celebrate Christmas -- only with his/her ex. Or go shopping with you. It would be curious, and it would turn into an Issue with a capital I.

Yes, I know, I know ... this is phrased as a woman's doing, and men do similar sleazy things. But it should take no effort to convince anyone that it's not limited by gender. There is no shortage of sexual violence, fraud, and contempt in the world today. These are difficult times for lovers.

11. I read this as "I'd take a piss, and I'm a man"
But pass or piss, I'd take it.

Is it a power trip, an injury, an illness, a neurosis, a birth defect?

15. No. Sorry.

To be remotely happy in a relationship, I need my needs taken care of on a regular basis. Someone who couldn't- wouldn't be remotely perfect. That being said, I suppose if a man had problems where he could no longer "function" physiologically, I could deal with it, as long as he still took care of my needs through other means. Wouldn't be my first choice though.

17. My grandparents' solution
My earlier post was about the nefarious practice of voluntary nookie embargoes. But several posters raised the less-likely possibility of physical handicap. This has happened in my own family.

My father's parents had a version of the problem. Nate was a cop in Chicago when the gangs ruled, and they made him a vice cop. Rather than busting hookers, he spent most of his time busting the undwerworld pimps who were abusing the gals and shaking down the madames.

One night, four or five men with firearms decided to end his interference with their boss' racket. He took nearly 30 pieces of ammunition, and still survived.

Unfortunately, tetanus from the infection nearly killed him over the next week. He recovered, but was left severely epileptic and completely unable to have an erection, among other things. But his police pension and disability policy would cover him well until the day he died 50 years later.

He and Betty were considering getting divorced, but the problem was that they liked each other, and they had two small children (one of whom was my father). So he proposed that she cultivate a couple of boyfriends and go on dates.

Two of these gentlemen in particular became very close to the whole family. One died before I was born; the other one I knew as an "uncle", and came to both Nate's funeral, and Betty's a few years later.

Take from that what you may ... Betty and Nate were the kinds of people who would "suck the marrow out of life", and lived that way until the Rabbi dropped the first handful of dirt on the coffin.

They don't make many of them like that anymore. Never did.

21. We'd probably be friends
I am married anyway but a big part of marriage especially at my age is sex. Perfect guy and I could be friends and near perfect guy who has sex with me would be my husband. What more could I want?
