HOLY SHIT! Central Connecticut's having one serious thunderstorm.
I just heard the loudest clap of thunder I've ever encountered. When I looked out the window, I felt as if I were aboard a submarine. It's raining so hard right now, visibility is almost zero.

Whew!

1. Hope you are ok
Do you have a cellar? Out here in the Midwest, one expects storms like that, but except for Nor'easters, I didn't think you New Englanders had it as bad as you describe. Hope you are doing better in a little while.

Hello from Newton Co AR, which, I'm told, looks a lot like Litchfield Co (which would be to your west-I'm assuming you're around Hartford).

2. I'm fine. The storm has already passed.
It rained like hell for about half an hour, but it's over now. Ah, New England!

6. Mt. Judea
(pronounced "Mount Judy") is in a lovely valley. I used to substitute teach there, and I have friends who live there! Small world, isn't it?

4. We've been living with these for the past week.
Under a tornado watch right now. Also a flood watch. This has been a wild week.

5. We had some real bangers last night in
southwestern New Hampshire and more lightening than I have ever seen in my life. My poor old dog Gypsy got so scared that she peed on the floor. I think we are in for some more tonight.

7. I know that clap of thunder!
Right around the time you posted this, I was walking into the Buckland Hills Showcase Cinemas right before the big downpour. I just about jumped out of my skin it was so loud. We came home to somewhat lower tree branches, but otherwise, all was well. :D :hi:
