It's official - tomorrow is D-Day!
(Formerly known as Diet Day).

I'm trying out GNC's Release program (any feedback would be appreciated) starting tomorrow in an overall effort to be healthier. I have never really stuck with a diet program for more than a few weeks so this is going to be a major challenge for me. I need to excercise more and eat healthier. Oh dear. I'm gonna need lots of support! What about you dieters out there? How are you doing it?

1. You have all the support in the world from me
I am glad to hear you are doing this. If you ever need advice you can come to me. I know lots of things seeing how I have to keep myself in top physical shape for some of the goals I have set. This is how Im doing it, I work out 3-5 times a week, I do running virtually everyday, shuttle running, play lots of basketball, route running, alot of times when I have free time I just either do push-ups or sit-ups. It will be tough at first because you will be putting your body through something it's not used to in awhile but after awhile working out turns into a habit and you feel like doing it alot. I wish you all the luck in the world. :) :pals:

2. Simple
Moderating fat intake, keeping protein intake at ~ 200 grams a day and making up the rest of my calories with carbs.

Add hard weight training three days a week plus 30-60 minutes of cardio 6 days a week.

Working good so far, strength is up and bodyfat is dropping!

5. Did it by following the Zone diet by Barry Sears
Edited on Sun May-23-04 02:41 PM by candy331
lost about 60 lbs and lots and lots of inches. Drink plenty of water if you don't already. Start slow and accelerate as you meet set goals. I walk 30- 60 minutes daily even though arthritis in knees is painful at times. I have tried you might say hundreds of diets but stick basically with the Zone program because it is a way of life eating program and not just a fad diet to loose weight. The Zone diet motto is "you are just a meal away from being in the zone" because your next meal can be a zone meal so a slip in eating does not mean a failed day or failed program. Here's to wishing you the best with much success. Any way I can help yell it to me..

6. Two words: FORGET ATKINS!

Contrary to what many people believe, you need carbs!

Losing weight is all about burning more calories than you take in. For many people, it sounds too simple to be true, but it's true.
