Canadian DUers (or anyone slightly educated), help me out
Is the drinking age in Canada 18 or 19? I always thought it was 18, but my friend said when he went it was 19. I would rather ask some friends than look it up, being the slacker that I am. Thanks, guys/gals!

2. It's a provincial call

Some provinces are 18, some are 19.
I remember being 18 and traveling across Canada by train. From the moment I crossed from Ontario into Manitoba I couldn't have a beer. As for specifics, I'm now in my 40's and don't have that info at my fingertips but I'll go look.
ON EDIT: here you go

Specifically Scotch.
In a bar?
In a liquor store?
Going in July.
Should I backpack my own supplies?

10. I once bought a bottle of gin in Canada -----
It was really a shock. Even in Maine I go to NH if I am buying but that was way over the top. I was staying in some ones home and thought it would be a nice gift. It would have been cheaper to rent a hotel room I swear. For then on I brought it from the USA.

12. Customs is ok with that
I think you can bring in 40 ounces of hard liquor plus a case of beer - but i'm not sure about the beer. And if you want a bottle of scotch be prepared to pay at least $40.00 Cdn. A bottle of the cheapest Glenlivet is $45.00 or more depending on the province. Alberta is the cheapest. So stop at a duty free and get what you want before you cross the border. :)
