Poll question: What summer movie do you want to see the most
For info you can visit: http://movies.yahoo.com/upcoming/bydate/2004_may/

Sorry, the 9 I happened to incude are one's I'd either want to or sort of want to see, even if the previews thus far have made the movie look God-awful(Catwoman). No chick flicks but feel free to hit up the "other" choice.

20. Potter 3 is very dark compared to the first two.
Every novel gets more sinister, as Harry get's older. Prisoner is the best of the books IMO, and this is the one where it stops being "kids fare".

Now a more serious question... ANCHORMAN?????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????

:wtf: were you thinking?

11. I'm a big fan of the Alien...
The creature moreso than the movies... Alien and Aliens were both excellent in their own unique way, but every Alien movie since has been more bad than good...

12. Fahrenheit 9/11
That's the only must-see on my list, whenever it makes it to the theater.

However, I have 3 little granddaughters who're always wanting a movie treat. So I'll probably see Shrek 2, Harry Potter 3, and a couple of others before I ever get to Fahrenheit 9/ll.

BTW, what's the King Arthur movie? Haven't heard anything about it yet.

18. There's an Alien v. Predator movie coming this summer???!!!
Edited on Sun May-23-04 09:34 PM by nu_duer
How the hell did I not know about that?

Yeah, that's the one I want to see. I wonder if Sigourney Weaver is going to be in it?

Well, on edit (after exploring the link) SW won't be in this one (but there IS talk of another Alien movie with SW back as Ripley :D )

snip:
Cast Notes: (6/23/03) Since this movie is set in the present day, and not in some far flung future, Sigourney Weaver's character of Ripley will not be included, so she won't be starring in this particular 'Alien' movie. In fact, no characters from any of the previous films are expected to return, so that means no Danny Glover or Arnold Schwarzenegger cameos either. There are rumors that Paul W.S. Anderson may have written the character of 'Lex' for his girlfriend (and his Resident Evil star) Milla Jovovich. Jovovich would have a very tight schedule fitting this movie in between Resident Evil: Apocalypse and Ultraviolet, especially considering she is the lead in both of those films, so it is likely she will not end up taking that role after all. (9/29/03) Lance Henricksen, who played the artificial beings called Bishop in Aliens and Alien 3 has signed on to play the lead character (and villain). Might his billionaire industrialist character of the 21st century from this movie actually turn out to be the basis for the androids he played in the earlier films (which were set farther in the future)?

Prisoner of Azkaban is my favorite of the novels. Cuaron did an excellent job some years back with the remake of Little Princess, so I hope he lives up to his reputation.

23. Other
for crissakes. I've already been subjected to the horrible trash that is known as "Mean Girls" and "Van Helsing". The reviews surrounding many others (especially "Troy) have ensured that I won't waste my money on that crap.

The only movie that I can picture myself going and seeing this summer is the sequel to Spider Man. I have never been disappointed by Raimi.

Other than that though, screw this summer movie stuff, and screw what passes for film nowadays. I used to disrespect Tarantino on the grounds that he steals almost every shot he films, but, apparently, he is one of the only good directors around nowadays.

30. "De-Lovely"
A biography of Cole Porter, with Kevin Kline in the title role. The film will bring up Porter's homosexuality, even though he was married for many years. There will be singers such as Diana Krall performing some of Porter's songs.

I'm really looking forward to seeing this.

"Garfield" also looks cute. And I am dying to see "Fahrenheit 9/11."

My husband is devoted to such flicks as "Troy" and other action movies. SIGH. I really have no desire to see them. I was dragged to "Van Helsing" and will resist being dragged to his other choices as best I can!

Bana is good, Pitt is acceptable.

It was Braveheart with a big wooden horse.
