Are there message boards with logical conservatives?

I know this sounds like an oxymoron, but not all conservatives are as psychotically insane as the Freepers, contrary to what the Freepers would have you believe. Neo-cons are nuts, but some ordinary conservatives can be reasonable - do they have message board forums?

Honestly, I wouldn't mind getting into a dialogue with a mature, reasoned conservative or two. I'm guessing it would be every bit as productive and illuminating as the conversation I got into several years ago with the liberal pastor of a progressive church.

they are against social safety nets, but at least the believe in fiscal responsibility, and hate *bush.

I am very much afraid of our national debt and that is the main reason I worry about these social safety nets. I definitely think it is good to have them for people that recently got pinkslipped, but after one year of looking for work, these people need to be placed on a workfare program at the very least so they do not defraud the system. That said, I definitely feel I identify more with people here even though we may disagree on a few issues. Reasonable conservatives can be very valuable too for bringing up issues and debating in a calm and rational way. What I despise are the Neo-Cons and the Project for a New American Century nutcases. There is no debate to be had with such people - they leave me with an incredulous jaw dropping look on my face.

When I started I got freeped big time, with freepers not only writing the merchants listed on my site, but a number of them writing directly to me as well.

While many of them were pretty far out on the fringe, there were also a couple who turned out to be decent human beings.

Decent human beings who had a very different view of how the world worked than I have, but we managed to agree to disagree. And these guys came from Freepervile.

I think it was McCain who said the difference between us and the terrorists is how we treat our enemies.
