Poll question: Do you take vitamins?
I take vitamins everyday. Some will argue you can get all the nutrition you need from food, but i look at it like an insurance policy. I may not need it everyday, but at least i know i'm covered.

1. Have you seen the "balanced diet" you're supposed to eat
if you don't take vitamins?

You'd always be eating.

You'd be so poor from your food bill you couldn't afford vitamins.

2. We used to take Juice Plus
which is supposed to be better than vitamins (I've never really understood why or how) - but when reviewing our budget and trying to find areas to cut back, I decided $140 bucks a month is just too much. Now we try to make sure we get what we need from a wide variety of fruits and vegetables and other nutritious foods. I've started to believe vitamins are just a big ripoff.

15. Having had weight-loss surgery
...(please no flames on that topic!) I need to take supplements for the rest of my life. I take:

Centrum chewables
extra ADEK
calcium (calcium citrate with vitamin D)
one (delicious) protein bar (30 mgs of protein)
zinc
other things on occasion

The benefits of the surgery far outweigh the inconvenience and expense.

18. recent convert
i am a very skeptical person. i still don't buy much of the holistic line. but i have a bipolar kid, and there was a double blind test showing that high dha fish oil was very helpful. bench science confirms this. since i have high cholesterol, and a high stress level, i take them, too. you have to take some e and c to go with them. so i take a centrum, also. take some calcium, cuz my bone density is borderline.

22. Adult vitamins make me ill
I am not sure which overdose of vitamin makes me ill but I tried a couple different complete vitamins with 200-800% of the RDA for a lot of them and I start feeling horrible after a few days.
I take Flintstone vitamins. They provide 100% of the RDA for a lot of vitamins and less for others. I figure that this is a good supplement for what I might not get from food.

24. Yep,
I take a multiple vitamin and a vitamin C supplement every day.

Since I work in a children's hospital & and am around sick kids every day (especially during the flu and RSV season) I figure it's probably a good idea.
