Which are worse: cicadas or "love bugs"?
Large parts of the country, including Cincinnati, are currently "suffering" through the emergence of the periodic cicadas. This bunch comes out every 17 years and drives everyone crazy.

The deep south from Texas through Florida are currently suffering -- if my memory serves me correctly -- through swarming "love bugs." (See http://www.theledger.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20030913/NEWS/309130317/1021 for some "love bug" background.)

The question of the day: Which are worse, cicadas or "love bugs"?

5. Growing Up In Vegas
Cicadas Come Every Year (I Understand Not In The Numbers The East Is Experiencing Now) Cicadas Are Pretty Groovy - Just Loud. As For "Love Bugs" I Can Only Assume You Mean Herbie.. #53 And Then I'd Have To Say Cicadas Are Worse. Everyone Loves Herbie. :)

7. Love bug windshields...
This not the month to have the job washing rental cars in Texas.

I felt terrible -- briefly -- last May returning our rental car at the airport covered with 3 days of southeast Texas love bug casualties. }(
