fat babies have no pride
I don't like hippies, and I don't like cornbread, and I don't like much!

Isn't Lyle Lovett great?

1. The Mystery Masked Man was smart
He got himself a Tonto
Tonto did the dirty work for free
But Tonto he was smarter
One day said "Kimosabe,
Kiss my ass, I've bought a boat,
I'm going out to sea."

3. that's one of my favorites!
"If I Had A Boat." I saw him do that on Trio and it was great. I wish he would redo that and change it to "If I Had A Vote." :)

2. Indeed he is...
I've seen him in concert twice - he puts on a GREAT show. 3 hours, a fantastic band, he's funny and his music is awesome.

4. I've never seen him live
But it's on my "to-do list."

(I've always suspected Kramer on Seinfeld stole his 'do, but I'm not certain.)

6. If you ever get a chance, go
he's awesome.

He has a woman in his band who sings his intermission - I forget her name. She kicks ass on old Bessie Smith blues songs.

He's got a very large band (hence the name, "Lyle Lovett and his very large band") and they rock. He tours constantly and they're super tight.

Definitely check him out. One of the more enjoyable shows you'll see.

8. I will
Just checked out some tour dates, and it seems the closest he's coming anytime soon is Atlanta. But I'm going to Nashville to see Rush, so I could probably make it to Atlanta for Lovett! (My musical taste is fairly eclectic.)

13. Whoohoo!
Penguins!

He's such an odd, yet appealing, musician. It's not country, it's not folk, it's not rock. It's just fun music.
