1. Ask them if they have ever tried the Nanking Variations;
If they say they have, they're totally faking.

2. The real name of Tai Chi...
Is Tai Chi Chuan. Chuan means Fist. It is, first and foremost, a fighting art of surprising effectiveness, if taught correctly.

Look at the person as they practice. Ask yourself if what they are doing could be used to muster an effective self-defense.

3. Try to hit them. Of course, a lot of tai chi teachers
don't even pretend to know or teach the martial aspect, and all you'd end up doing is decking someone's exercise coach. Don't do that.

5. No, no -- I'm talking about these old geezers in the park. >
I think they're just there to like, pick up geezer chicks or something.

7. Leave 'em alone, then, unless -- when your time comes -- you
want some smart-alec whippersnapper messing up your chances with the babes. I know I'll be peeved when it's my turn. :D

9. China is full of "old geezers in the park" practicing Tai Chi
It's considered a way to maintain flexibility and balance as one grows older.

8. Or maybe just startle them? Or gross them out? >
They can't be real Thai Chi'ers if you can distract them with rubber vomit, for example. Right?
