Do people who go on and on and on about themselves annoy you?
I have this co-worker at work who talks about herself and everything that goes on in her life. Any time you have a conversation with her, it's always about her.

What she did over the weekend, what she did last night, on and on and on about all the lousy men she dates, her medical problems, her car problems, on and on and on.

I just don't get people like that. I don't go around telling people I barely know about all my personal problems. Yet, there are lots of people like this. They tell you their whole life story in the first five minutes they meet you.

Those people have always annoyed the hell out of me.

2. I cut things off with a friend like that...
We had been very close for two of the three years, but she just got to be unbearable. I tried just putting some distance between us, and that didn't work. Finally, I blew up and told her everything about her that annoyed me!LOL! It was LIBERATING!

6. Yeah, I've got low self-esteem. No hiding that one.
And I've been seeing a therapist for a long time. Dealing with the issue you mentioned among other things.

8. not really
Balance would be ideal, but I prefer the self-involved who yak about themselves to the questioners who want to interrogate me about every little detail about MY life. I already know about MY life, I'd rather hear what they think. Because my life is considered "interesting," I get asked an awful lot of questions and people don't realize, but it's always the same questions. Listening to someone else talk about themselves can be restful for me.

9. Not if they let me talk too
I have no problem with people who are open about themselves. When faced with an open person, I tend to be more open as well. If they don't let me talk or constantly interrupt me when I am talking, that is annoying. If they are just open, we are more likely to become friends quicker than someone who just talks about the weather and other small talk.
