Stallone wants to do "Rocky VI" and a Rocky Broadway Musical...
Stallone Throws Legal Punch

http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&cid=796&e=2&u=/eo/20040515/en_celeb_eo/14111

"The Rocky star filed a lawsuit against the studio and a production company, alleging that he was blocked in his efforts to revive the boxing flick for a sixth installment and to develop a Broadway musical based on the franchise.

The suit, filed Thursday in Los Angeles Superior Court, seeks unspecified damages from MGM and Chartoff Productions and seeks an order allowing Stallone to continue on his quest to make Rocky VI--a sequel that the world obviously can't live without."

Best-Mr. T-Movie-EVER. And no, "D.C. Cab" doesn't count.

2. Why stop there?
He should do a sequel to "Stop or my mom will shoot" and really annoy people.

to watch them.

A "Rocky" broadway play?! That is ridiculous!

Rocky VI? Aren't the first 5 good enough?!

It's been 20 or 200 years since the last one was made. They were pop culture rubbish typical of the 1980s.

This case should, in a rational world, fall through.

4. It's similar to Carrol O'Connor hating Norman Lear until the day he died..
...because he kept insisting that the world wanted another "All In The Family" sequel and Lear, who had veto power, said "let it rest."

5. Wow!
I had never heard that, BEB. I read O'Connor's autobiography, and he seemed a really gracious man.

6. He was, but I think...
...the death of his son Hugh from a drug overdose was too much for him to take. The impression I got was that he was trying to re-focus, and he pitched the idea for an updated Archie Bunker to Lear and was met with resistance. I think he was trying to "ground" himself, to throw himself into a project that would ease the pain of what was happening in his personal life.

There was a photo session a couple of years before his death...I believe it was for Vanity Fair or something similar...in which stars of famous TV shows reunited for group shots. They did one for All In The Family and O'Connor boycotted the shoot due to this tug-of-war with Lear. Reiner, Struthers and Stapleton did the photo without him.

My apologies for not providing links for all of this info...I did some Google searches, but no luck.

7. Nonetheless,
I appreciate the info. I have always liked and admired O'Connor and Lear. Knowing how passionate O'Connor was, and Lear is, the relationship you relate is not surprising at all.

9. Yeah, and he is grieving after the death of Adrian,
but he falls in love with the Martian's sister, and is conflicted about his loyalties...

He beats the Martian, and calls out to his new interspecies love:

"Yo, Mxtxplrnnnnd!"
