Anyone else notice...
...the lack of backlash against "Frasier" this week like there was in response to last week's "Friends" finale?

They both got a full hour of Dateline on Wednesday evening. They both got an hour retrospective before their hour-long series finale.

So where's the matching blowback?

Anyone care to offer postulations on the differing reactions and their causes?

3. Boy, wish i wuold have seen that post before deletion
Edited on Fri May-14-04 11:31 PM by Rabrrrrrr
I'm often curious about deleted messages in threads that I would never think to say anything deletable, and what kind of insane diatribe the post must have been.

I mean, how cuold you go off so far on a Frasier/Friends thread that you get deleted?

Dang.

2. Frasier was intelligent and witty, and the Frasier fan-base weren't a
bunch of over-energetic prophets for the show.

Note: I'm speaking in generalities here - obviously not all fans, of either show, are like that. Just a majority.

Also note: this is, of course, my opinion. But I think the Frasier fans are mature enough that if someone insults the show, they'll just go "Okay." Unlike the Friends fans who take criticism of the show as a personl insult and fight back. Frasier fans aren't any fun to bait, so why bother? The Friends fans are. :-)

10. I just can't imagine how anyone could be so charged up
that they'd join DU either just to post on a Frasier thread and say something so outrageous as to get deleted twice; or someone who was already a member, and just happened to be new, who feels the need to ... well, you know the story.

14. Either somebody REALLY hates Fraiser...
... or they REALLY love him in a way you shouldn't feel about a TV character.

13. Two thoughts
first all the cast of friends getting a million an episode and
second speaking from experience maybe lots of people stopped watching it long ago, the Episode where Roz got pregnant was the last time it was seen here.
That said, LOL, one of the funniest shows of all time was the agent quitting smoking episode, that has got to be one of the top ten funniest sitcom episodes ever.
