Whatizit?

Zipping into the future NextFest in S.F. zeroes in on inventions that are almost ready to take off

snip...
The exhibits include the Moller Skycar, a four-passenger vehicle from Moller International of Davis. The Jetsons-style craft is small enough to drive on the ground, but can take off vertically and fly as fast as 380 mph.

3. Moller is just up the road from me....
and as cool as it looks and as easy as it is to fly, truth be told, the scuttlebutt around town is that it isn't going to happen in our lifetime because the FAA is dragging it's feet. Nevertheless, I want one!

4. It hasn't changed in twenty years
I remember seeing that thing in Popular Mechanics when I was a kid. It's all a big scam - it relies on technology for fuel, propulsion, and control that still hasn't been invented yet.

5. NO!
It's real and it works and the FAA won't let the fly without a rope tethered to it! The wankel engine use gasoline. Look at the video of it flying.
