Mia Zapata of the Seattle band THE GITS. I remember that it was a mysterious, unsolved case. I'd never heard that it had been solved.

I followed the Mia Zapata case for years after it was profiled on Unsolved Mysteries. Very sad, a rising singing talent who was found dead in the street late at night more than a decade ago.

A hispanic drifter-type was arrested in the Florida Keys a year or two ago, after a DNA match. He was convicted and sentenced to 37 years. Here is a link:
