Poll question: Ok, who's winning tommorrow'sPreakness Stakes
Edited on Fri May-14-04 08:50 PM by bigwillq
The second leg of horse racing's Triple Crown.

I have Imperialism in my office pool. Wish me luck.

But who do you like to win?

Options selected by the horse's post positions.
oops, #11 Water Cannon doesn't fit in the poll. Feel free to
vote for him.

edit: spelling

second edit: I switched Cliff's Edge, who scratched to Water
Cannon

1. I forgot the horses name but I like the #13
He's the only horse that has ran at Pimlico and he's young and strong.

2. I'm not sure what horse you're talking about
I'm not sure if the posts #'s are their numbers that they wear. If so, there's only 11 horses in the field so I don't know.

Shorter distance will allow him to hold off the late rushing competition.

Carrying a load of BBQ ribs and a keg of beer.

For a jockey, we'll use a garden gnome lashed down with leather whips.

16. Maybe we'll have to go with a quarter horse instead.
They race those too! Bob Baffert started training quarter horses before moving on to thoroughbreds.

19. And let our quarterhouse beat the hell out of a few of the other horses
before each fight. I mean, race.

Our horse will be the one hanging out back before the race smoking cigarettes and drinking beer and tossing a stilletto into the ground; and we'll make a cloth thing for his shoulder, like a t-shirt sleeve, that we'll roll up and store his cigarettes in.

24. No. I'm a total bandwagon jumper.
The Smarty Jones story has gotten so much press here it's almost annoying. But if he wins the Preakness, well then Bensalem is REALLY on the map.

It's one of those once in a lifetime stories, and I'm actually enjoying it.

25. This one is
Smarty Jones' to lose.

Possibles in there with him...

his 2nd & 3rd from the Derby, of course, Imperialism and Lion Heart;

personally, I prefer Rock Hard Ten this time, and Water Cannon as well.
