1. ROFL!
When I finally gave up the ghost and HAD to buy a 4WD, we chose the Jeep Liberty Renegade. Getting about 28 mpg highway, 32 in town (of course, both go down in winter when we have to warm up the vehicles). We shopped for a long time when the Saturn finally started dying on us, and for our use (lots of off-road and bad road driving up here), this was the logical choice.

Still, when one comes out that is REALLY fuel-efficient - which CAN be done, right now - we'll trade. Meanwhile, we use it as little in town as possible and this summer will be sticking to the motorcycle a lot!

2. Wow, the Jeep Renegade gets 28 mpg
That's pretty good compared to the Humvee which gets 9 to 10 miles a gallon. You are not driving a gas guzzler.

3. My area has 5 different hummers
I'm going to put up that as a bumper sticker and make another;

"My 1995 rustbucket gets 28MPG. How many GPM does your Hummer get?"

It's more fun than glaring at the fuckers...

4. My wife always salutes Humvee drivers with her thumb and forefinger...
held an inch apart. For some reason, they always become furious.

5. My wife was the first to show me the Hummer Pinkie salute
Her friends salute every Hummer we see. It would be fun to see this become a national phenomenon.

6. That would be great! Peer pressure is much better than legislation
And I mean that seriously - best to make people come to their own decision about wasteful/stupid/wrong/whatever stuff through social pressure.

Love your new donkey image!

7. As an old Girlfriend used to say to HUMVEES and Porches
As we drove around in my little GEO Tracker:

"Sorry to hear about your Dick"

11. I'd been wondering why an environmental lawyer at work drives an H2:
I learned last week that he represents mining companies. It explains a lot. I guess the bumper sticker in his office isn't a joke, as I always thought it was: "EARTH FIRST! We'll mine the other planets later."

Dig your waggly pinky sign. :7
