What's the best way to pop an abscess?
Argh. Had eczema on my right ring finger. Scratched the little bumps until they leaked clear fluid. One started to weep blood. Now that area is big and purple red and hurts badly.

If I sterilize a sewing needle, would that work if I poke it in far enough?

I've used stickpins before, but only once before was an abscess so deeply embedded... had to get hospitalized... :eyes:

5. Clarification - my fault by far!
One time I had an abscess so big (under arm, had nothing to eczema) I had to go to hospital. I wish I had a needle back then...

4. Basic First Aid
Is to lance the boil with an alcohol sterilized needle, soak for a few in Hydrogen Peroxide and wrap in a clean bandage.

But you really need to see a Doc if it's a persistent condition. Eczema and ring finger may point to an allergy.
