Bankers??? How long til a credit is posted to your charge acct?

I had an order canceled by a flower company due to availability problems on Mothers day. They claim they will credit my card for the amount, but after a full week it still hasn't happened. (I used a visa check-card). How long should I wait before I call them to complain? It is frustrating, I hate loose ends.

1. Call Them Now

It should have been posted by now. I'm on the board of directors of a reasonably large community credit union, and we have Visa and Visa Check Cards, and i know that unless the vendor is taking too long to punch in the numbers, the bank should never take a full week to credit the account. If everything is EDS, it should take 30 seconds, not 7 days.

2. I'd call.

Call the company and ask them if the submitted the credit and then call your bank and ask if they have processed a credit on your account. Theoretically, the flower place could have sent the credit on monday your receiving bank should have received the ach batch the next day and processed it, depending on when they received the batch it should show up on your account the second or third day, and once again depending on when it hits your account should be available that day or the day after that.

3 or 4 days I'd say. I'd give the company a call to check it out and see when they sent your credit back to your bank, then call the bank and see when they expect it to be processed.
