How long did it take for you to be *hooked* on DU?

I fall into the second category...I found DU, thought "Huh...this is pretty cool"...Checked back in every other day or so. Then once I got actively involved in a conversation, the fat lady sang, as it were. :D

1. lurked/posted sporadically for a few months

and pretty much still only post sporadically. I'm mostly hooked on the reading news from a wide variety of source aspect. I did take a 5-6 month sabbatical in 2003.

they have so many smiley icons - so that we can use them liberally and defuse much of the anger we would otherwise cause among those who fail to grasp the subtleties of sarcasm. :P

I seem to use those icons almost exclusively in the Lounge though, so it doesn't do me much good in the forums where it would matter more.

18. Awhile

Starting lurking September 2002 and registered November 2002. I rarely posted until last July or August and then started going full throttle once I felt more comfortable. It usually takes me awhile to warm up.
