Steer Escapes Slaughterhouse, Takes Refuge In Garage
Shop Owner Decides Not To Give Animal Back

NEWARK, N.J. -- A steer that escaped from a slaughterhouse and took refuge in the Newark garage across the street got a new home, WNBC-TV in New York reported.



On Monday, the animal headed for the Popcorn Park Zoo, an animal rescue shelter.

Judy Borsellino, owner of Triangle Towing Service, said the steer wandered onto her property around noon on Friday.

"He looked, made a right and came in," she said. "I said, 'Close the gate.'"
