It automatically posts IMMEDIATELY following the 30th (+/-) post... so the human who posted just prior to Grovelbot wouldhave kicked the thread anyway.

GrovelBot's automated message is immediately posted after the triggering post in a given thread. The triggering post kicks the thread, and GrovelBot's post immediately thereafter should have no effect on a thread that's already at the top of the forum.

As far as I can tell, GrovelBot's post count was fixed at 1000 or 1001 from the start, and the automated posts don't appear to increase the post count. GrovelBot's post count was incremented from 1004 to 1005 yesterday after a rare "manual" post (see posts #55 and 58 at the linked thread). It looks like he's been stuck at 1005 since that time.
