Ridiculous MCI Commercial - "What a wonderful world"

If I see this thing one more time, I'm gonna explode! Sounds like Tony Bennett and K.D. Lang singing "What a wonderful world." The irony is, they run this ad constantly on CNN, where the news is anything BUT wonderful -- war in Iraq, prison abuse/torture, the Berg atrocity.

Some kind of wonderful world.

Especially since MCI just announced another massive layoff - 7,500 jobs cut by the end of the summer. Year total will be 12,000. Yup, makes me want to sing.

I saw Diana singing with Tony on PBS (I think?) a couple years ago, but now that I think of it, it does sound more like kd.

That's actually depressing, since kd has always been a supporter of progressive causes, and for her to support MCI/WorldCom/BushAssholeSupporters is depressing in the extreme.

they're just using the song. Sorta like Rush using the Pretenders' song. No way in hell Chrissy supports Rush. If she's smart she'll take any royalties she gets from the use of it and donate it to her causes. That's what I would do.

These fuckers made me put down a deposit to get a cell phone, then THEY went out of business a few months later, and refused to respond to my hundreds (HUNDREDS) of phone calls about recovering my deposit.
