New ones are just a compilation of "Wham, bam, thank you mister!" scenes. And they're so common that it's the same thing fifty times over. Big deal. The few that are decent are worth watching, but a lot of porn I'd rented in the past is hardly worth the $60 purchase price. Try 60 cents, and even then it's still yawning material.

Old ones often have a story mixed in with the steamy stuff. I won't name names... :evilgrin:

The older ones are the more way-out as well. I can think of a purported all time classic ("DT") that is a little too way-out for my liking... One from 1980 has a surprisingly cool plotline ("S..NY"), but in the end they depict an 'incest' scene. :Puke: (still, I prefer that in terms of plot over the lunacy that was "DT"... it's not just incest, it's how they portray it. It's quite creepy and meant to be a form of revenge...)

Watching porn turns me on. I do also think that it can be educational (ideas for positions, foreplay, and such). Some of it is really good too.
On the otherhand, much of it is degrading to women and sex in general. Some of the stuff that I have seen has really distrurbed me, mostly stuff involving violence with the sex and I am not talking about S&M.
My husband and I both watch porn. We often watch it together but are alright with the other watching it alone if the other is not around. Unlike my husband though, I don't enjoy trying to actually do stuff while watching pron, too distracting.
