the next person who says 'having said that' I swear to god....
i'm gonna drag em' out into the street and shoot em in the face.

if you're going to go to all the trouble of saying something, you don't need to interrupt what it is you're already saying to say 'having said that' because we just heard you say it already.

and it also sounds as if you're dismissing what it is you just said.
"I hate cats". "Having said that, I also hate dogs" i don't get it.

and if someone comes into my thread and says something and then adds 'having said that', i'm putting them on ignore, if i haven't already done that.

3. At the end of the day.....
Just what I was going to say... My head swells to near explosion whenever I hear that. Then there's "paradigm shift."

16. Well, the bottom line is ...
that such defenstration is indefensible. Having said that, I would like to state that I agree that we need a paradigm shift.

4. Having said that would further interfacing be problematic?
There are just a few of my verbal pet peeves.

5. Observing and implementing a ban on your verbal pet peeves...
... is a paradigm shift that should be implemented. Let's revisit that soon, so that we may empower all of those who care to be like minded about this meme (at the end of the day).

8. And we should be proactive...
...having said that... At the end of the day, what's the actual ROI for this paradigm shift?

10. I like that thinking outside the box. Workup any downsides you see
and we can create some ideas on risk avoidance.

LOL the both of you.

7. down boy!
How do you feel about pre-statement-statments of intentiion to express something, such as: "I would like to say ...," or "I would like to point out ..."

Just say it for crying out loud!

These can be annoying, but become even more problematic when they are in the form of a request, as in: "Let me just say that ..." Is the author actually asking for our permission to say what they're going to say?

Having said that ...

9. I totally agree!
But, that having been said, can we think outside the box, and find a win-win solution?

I'd like to engage you in a dialogue about this. What I'm hearing you say is that you dislike this particular phrase; is that what you're saying?

The people who use hackneyed phrases like that are not the sharpest crayons in the box! They often seem one taco short of a combination platter!

Let's interface on this matter; we can be as proactive as you feel comfortable with, but I need to know you are the one who can pull the trigger on this.

19. Yes! Mistakes were made,
but we shouldn't change Horsemen in the middle of the Apocalypse! Stay the course! Remember: If you _________ , then the terrorists have already won!

Also, can we have a big round of applause for our Heroes? You young people are swell! I'm proud to be an American! Where at least I know I'm free!

These evildoers and suiciders cannot stand against the power of Mom, apple pie, and Lee Greenwood! God bless the USA! My mother, drunk or sober!

There are good reasons to use the phrase. But having said that, I realize that you're too upset for me to detail them.

20. Wow a little violent
I know we are all on edge and the actions our government have taken have angered many, but in so much as politicians are all trained in the same speech patterns I feel that "having said that" is a common transitional phrase.

Having said that, I hope you do not put me on ignore for using "having said that" in a quotational setting. . .hmmm but then I've also used it in a trasitional setting.

Dammit, I'm gonna miss you MOPAUL!!
