raccoons as guard "dogs" ?
When did people start using raccoons to
watch their places instead of dogs ?

Can't Dogs or cats be trained to send e-mail
to notify of intrude ...aaa.. guests ?

1. Raccoons could care less. Get geese.
Geese are really loud and nasty about intruders.

Swans can be pissy, too.

Forget ducks.

2. Geese were good enough for Rome
They're good enough for me.

Although I prefer my dogs. Get to close to them and they try and drown you in doggy love.
I've gone through soooooo many trouser legs.

3. Jeebus...
I just ran out to the store. Came back and surprised my resident raccoon in my kitchen. He ran into the living room. I followed him, purring gently, trying to befriend him. Then he ran back out to the kitchen, out the cat door. He snubbed me. The bastard.

4. How about Possums?
Think about it. "Guard possums"! After that, maybe "seeing eye possums","rescue possums", or maybe even "coon possums" trained to hunt raccoons. And if the critter failed to deliver the goods, how about some possum stew?

5. The goose suggestion was good.
I saw a goose in a fight with a large cottonmouth moccasin. After 30 seconds of broiling action, flaps, hissing and honking, the snake retreated.
