"Deadwood": its like "Gun Smoke" except it's GOOD.

My girlfriend once said that "Gunsmoke" was just a bunch of close-ups of people sweating. Who the hell is entertained by that show? I love old TV but Gunsmoke never did it for me...

Well, this new show, "Deadwood" alos has a sort of Gunsmoke quality,- a "Dialouge Western" if you will- except it's good.

I've seen most of the episodes-

My favorite characters are the "good" Saloon Owner(compared to the Powers Boothe character, at least) & the Inkeeper...

I love the apparent historical accuracy of the show too...

5. Great fucking show.
Calamity Jane is a bit annoying but that's my only complaint. Great characters, great situations, a great HBO show.

7. Yeah the fucking cunt preacher is a bit annoying as well.
I just find drunk Calamity to be extremely hard to take. Sober she's ok. My favorite character is Bullock, which is kind of strange since I'm usually a fan of the villian. I like everyone really, HBO is brilliant 99% of the time.
