They're the basketball version of the freaking Yankees, whom I also abhor. The sweetest revenge would've been them getting swept, but I'll take a 4-1 Spurs win. But right now, I'm rather antagonistic toward LA teams in general, Dodgers are beating up on my Cubbies 7-2.

This sounds like a poll for people whose teams don't win many championships.

I've been rooting for the Lakers since Jerry West was a pup.

Note for the uninformed: "Showtime" was the 80's Lakers With Magic Johnson, James Worthy, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Jamal Wilkes, Byron Scott... I'll bet those names give most of you nightmares. :P

Nice to see another oldster who likes the Lakers, I've been a fan since the days of Elgin Baylor and Jerry West.

The eighties Lakers were DA BOMB. More talent coming off the bench than most teams had on their first string.

Love the modern Lakers too. Shaq is the modern day incarnation of Wilt, while Kobe is a fine combination of Jordan, Dr. J, and Clyde the Glide.

And I don't hate the Spurs at all, in fact I wish the Lakers had some of the Spurs players. But hey, they're facing the Lakers, so I will root against them. If they win, well I hope they go all the way.

Quite frankly I thing we are seeing THE championship series right here. Whoever comes out of this is going to go all the way. King, T-Wolves, while worthy foes, are going to go down. And eastern conference, well, call back when they have a real team:evilgrin:

I live in LA but I've always been a Utah Jazz fan. I used to go to Salt Lake City games just to see the Jazz in a friendly environment and I got to meet all the players and chat with them and stuff. Totally different than LA, where you can't even get close to them. Good times, great memories.

I respect the Spurs, but i can't like 'em. They're from Texas! Nothing good can come of that!

And, it can still be boring if you're winning. The whole NBA is boring right now, and one team or the other wins every single game.

The NBA can be fixed with one quick solution. No coach can call a play from the bench for one month. When the game gets better, every coach in the league will realize the best thing to do is prepare the team and then just sit there during the games.

NBA is the most overcoached league in the world right now.
