What are you listening to?
What with the nastiness today ... I needed sing-along political lefty music. To remind myself that I can still fight. That this is not the end.

Chumbawamba, Bad Religion, Pink Floyd and Laurie Anderson.

What about you?

6. Tool always gets me going
Not that Tool are obviously left in their music, but it just pumps my spirit.

Dead Kennedies, BGK, Husker Du, Minute Men, Nirvana, DCD, PIL, Primus (Too Many Puppies!), it's all good.

13. Right now
"Personal Journalist" by Sage Francis.

Sage writes some songs that are very politically charged, like "Makeshift Patriot". I've also been listening to Rage Against the Machine, System of a Down, Massive Attack, and Aesop Rock, all of which have their political moments (some more than others).

16. Now it's Sheryl Crow
Wow! Powerful song: (I used to dislike her stuff, but recently, I've like some of her recent ones.)

Home

I woke up this morning
Now I understand
What it means to give your life
To just one man
Afraid of feeling nothing
No bees or butterflies
My head is full of voices
And my house is full of lies

This is home, home
And this is home, home
This is home

I found you standing there
When I was seventeen
Now I'm thirty-two
And I can't remember what I'd seen in you
I made a promise
Said it everyday
Now I'm reading romance novels
And I'm dreaming of yesterday

I'd like to see the Riviera
And slowdance underneath the stars
I'd like to watch the sun come up
In a stranger's arms

I'm going crazy
A little at a time
And everything I wanted
Is now driving me away
I woke this morning
To the sound of beating hearts
Mine is full of questions
And it's tearing yours apart...
