Well, who needs milk anymore?
http://www.gay.com/health/fitness/?sernum=2799

:eyes:

...Your next goal is to find whole foods that do not contain the following six ingredients and/or processes. You won't need these foods or food processes, because you will replace them with better nutrition. If an item in your pantry does contain any of the six, is prepackaged, unopened and does not expire anytime soon, consider getting a storage box to keep it away from the kitchen so as not to tempt you. If you are at a restaurant and you do not know how your meal is prepared, do your best to avoid anything containing or using:

1. Wheat
2. Hydrogenated oil
3. Deep-fried foods
4. Milk and milk products
5. Prepackaged foods
6. Meal replacers
(snip)

It's a long article, though they only cover points 1 and 2... Amusing how they throw in milk, what's wrong with easy calcium? They chose not to finish the article, so whazzup?! I know they want me to buy the book, but you'd think they'd put in something for the other foods to avoid; and leave the foods we ought to eat for the book. Oh well, I already eat well, they don't need my money. :D

1. Dairy products tend to be allergens for a lot of people.
So many people find a lot of relief from symptoms by eliminating these foods. You might want to get a test for allergies. Plus, in macrobiotic terms they are too yin/expansive. BTW -- Have you read any more Annemarie Colbin? Another book to check out is The Self-Healing Cookbook by Kristina Turner.

Glad to see they are giving the gay guys good advice. ;-)

2. Some people are lactose intolerant
People may even be mildly lactose intolerant and don't know it. They have digestive problems and don't know why. Milk can be the cause.
Technically, you can get enough calcium from certain vegtables. I guess that it would be healthier if you ate those vegtables instead of dairy products.
For many people though, milk is an easy way to get calcium and certain vitamins. They probably would be deficient if they didn't drink milk or eat dairy products.

3. I do. I do.
I hate coffee, but I MUST start my day with caffeine, so chocolate milk is it. Without it, I would accomplish nothing. And you wouldn't be treated to my posts either.

4. Well, we want you around!! But have you tried this...
Personally, I use Swiss Miss cocoa mix in with my coffee directly. No milk, and I get my caffeine and chocolatey taste! :D But milk is groovy too. :-)
