Steve Martin to Be the New Inspector Clouseau

"Actors Kevin Kline (L) and Steve Martin pose with actress Beyonce after a news conference for a present-day re-make of the film 'The Pink Panther' in New York, May 7, 2004. Martin will star as a new Inspector Clouseau alongside Beyonce and Kline."....No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no

...YES.

Note to Steve "I Can Do Anything" Martin: show this man some respect. Why would you even want to attempt this?

1. Because SM just might pull it off?

I don't know. There aren't a whole lot of people around who can pull of f the Peter Sellars-David Niven school of comedy. But I think Steve is one of them. Remember "Dirty Rotten Scoundrels?"

2. Actually, Kevin Kline would have been the better choice.
Kline is an excellent actor who is highly under-rated. He is one of the few who could have pulled off this role, imo.

4. He would do well also. I adore KK.
What will he be doing in this thing, I wonder?

5. I think SM and KK are brilliant
If anyone can pull it off, it's these two. They're so great. Think about how well Klein did in Fish Called Wanda.

8. Hot diggity, yet another remake of a movie!
Not getting my money. I want to see something new. I can watch the DVD if I want to see the original.
