Special effects were cool but dialogue, plot and character developement were sorely substandard.

14. It sucked...

It really did. Sommers seems to only be able to turn out popcorn flicks and the CGI/"action" in Van Helsing was terrible.

It blew, IMO. They even had a continuuity error early on in the film. Kate Beckinsale say (paraphrase) "I hope you still have a heart so I can rip it out" and Draculas bride smacks her out the window, then Kate magically re-appears inside.

Seriously, this movie blows ass. Your mind will blow as the wolfman lights a carriage on fire simply by jumping on it. Then a wooden carriage blows up and kills stuff when it falls off a cliff. Yes, it was only a wooden carriage.

Oh, and watch the framerates drop when CGI is on the film, I cannot believe the same people that worked on the LOTR trilogy had a hand in this.

15. Waste of money/time.

A few good scares, otherwise it totally lost me. The woman really shouldn't have died, either. That was too sad. :-(
