Would you buy this guitar???
If for no other reason than it looks pretty cool? Quite a dilemma...

4. I like the design OK; I think it would work better with >
a darker fretboard, though. Or maybe the fretboard needs more dramatic inlays. Yeah. That would do it.

6. No, you can find kits to do that
Eddie Van Halen-style decorative kits aren't hard to find. That look would be okay on a Strat or something from B.C. Rich, but not on a Telecaster or whatever that is.

14. I'll take your word for it, but
in either case it doesn't have that "loud and proud" look that you get from something like a Flying V or other such guitar where that sort of design fits better (in my opinion only, of course).

The real test is whether the guitar, outside of its looks, is a good value for the dollar. I'd prefer my own design to someone else's in any case.

15. No fucking way...
It's an Eddie Van Halen knock off. He's so 80's....and his guitars were never cool to begin with.

Never go by what a guitar looks like; go by how it SOUNDS.

I loved that song when I was a kid until I learned how easy it was to play. I felt scammed.

16. I don't think it looks cool at all.
It looks like something that somebody in a longhaired C*ck-Rock band would play.

Does it come with a free pair of spandex pants?

21. I agree
I agree XNASA, very poison-esque. One shouldn't buy guitars for how they look anyway, what's important is how they sound. For credibility reasons, I will mention here that I do play the guitar.

Welcome to DU.

It's always great to have another guitarist in the fold. There's quite a few of us here.

Here's a pic of me with my Tele....

24. No way
I didn't like 'em when EVH was cool, and I don't like 'em now.

I prefer something like a road-worn Strat (brownie sunburst),a goldtop LP, or a vintage Martin herringbone. Something that (a) sounds fabulous, and (b) has some mojo!

25. But I'm not Eddie Van Halen
Now you might be able to get away with a Sunburst Gibson Les Paul if you're not Jimmy Page, or a Gibson Hollowbody Tonemaker if you're not Wes Montgomery...and you could even get away with a right handed guitar strung lefty if you're not Jimi Hendrix...

But Eddie kinda made this his calling card...

27. No... but then, I'm a bassist...
But my understanding is that the Ernie Ball/Music Man Axis is quite nice for rock-n-roll playing...

The retro-EVH stripe job is a matter of taste...

28. I wouldn't
Budget models invariably have those tinfoil Floyds that rust and break easily. And if you're someone who actually uses a Floyd, the neck needs to be built to stand some heavy duty flexing, which isn't often the case.
