Remember my career-change question?
Edited on Wed May-05-04 09:32 AM by pagerbear
The concensus seemed to be it's a good idea to make a change. Now I'm wondering how I could pay for going back to college. Obviously student loans are an option, but if it's possible to avoid them, I'd like to.

Anyone ever order those books from Matthew Lesko--the manic guy with question marks on his suits who says the government has free money for you, you, YOU!!!! Surely you've seen his commercials--he's even been on talk shows and the network morning shows. So has anyone ordered his books? Can anyone tell me where to find the information he's selling for myself?

2. Can't help you with the question mark man
though I've seen him...

But I will say, in terms of your possible career change, "Follow your heart".

Whatever it is, you must and you have to follow your heart. It is the only path to happiness. And personally (and idealistically) speaking, I'd rather be deep in debt doing sometihng I LOVE for small money, than doing something "responsible" that is killing me spiritually just so I can look "responsible" and enter into the bullshit American dream of conspicuous consumption. Not that I'm trying to tell you what to do, just offering my own opinion, which you can accept or reject or re-negotiate. The language of someone trained in personal coaching. :-)

I now prefer the penultimate "r" in your name.

The other day, when you had your "r" poll, I rather liked the third r but I've gone off that one now.

I knew you would have been wondering about this so I thought I'd let you know so you can at least get some sleep tonight.

;)

5. LOL!
Thanks! As you have found out, each of the "r"s has their own power, and each person will change, day to day, as to whcih one is the most important/relevant for them. They truly have lives, and mystical powers, of their own. I'm glad you have found solace in at least one of them, and hope you will continue to find something of meaning in them. And if you don't, that's okay, too.

7. Rabrrrr talks that way in person, too.
...especially to waitresses in dim sum restaurants.

4. Do something you love
Colleges have financial aid offices, find something you would like to major in, pick a college and talk to their FA people. They are trained in finding money for you.
I've seen those commercials and its seems I've seen him somewhere before. Where? That bugs me.
Anyway, I'm in that "going back to college" boat. Believe me, it's worth it if you are serious. Small private colleges are real good. My college offers me a deal: two classes and the third one is free. No fees. Only a $40 parking pass per year.
Do your research one you find something your interested in.
