Do cat's whiskers grow back?
I just got two new kitties from a street market and after I got them home I noticed that someone had either cut or burned their whiskers off. :grr:

They're only about seven or eight weeks old- do the whiskers grow back or are they maimed for life?

1. Dunno. I'd assume so. My cat had
No whiskers when I bought him. He'd gotten too close to a candle and singed them off. They came back fine. But like I said, dunno.

9. They do.
I accidently set my cat's whiskers on fire (don't ask!)and singed them off on one side and they grew back.

2. Yes they will grow back
but since cats use them as extra sensors, they may be a little disoreintated.

3. They are supposed to be as wide as the cat
If the cat tries climbing in a too tight place, it knows when its whiskers rub.

I don't know why I know that.

5. Whew, that's a relief.
They do seem a bit disoriented and especially cautious but I've only had them three days and they're already starting to come around.

Thanks.

6. As long as the follicles are intact
they should grow back with no problems.
