Johnny Depp reportedly wants Rolling Stones rocker Keith Richards to appear in the "Pirates of the Caribbean" sequel -- as his father.

How great would that be?!

The hottie actor famously based his character Jack Sparrow on the aged rocker in the celebrated film, and wants to pay tribute to Richards by landing him a role in the follow-up, according to IMDb.com.

A source says, "Johnny was slightly embarrassed by all the praise for "Pirates," because he was really just being Keith. A good way of thanking Keith would be to get him to do a walk-on in the sequel."

I have so little interest in celebrities, really. But this Johnny Depp guy is OK in my book. I know he got dissed early on as this pretty-boy hearthrob, but he really has done some fine work. First noticed him in "Edward Scissorhands," and while I haven't followed his work religiously, every time I see him in something I think, "Damb, that kid's a good actor." Seems smart, funny, and not all that caught up in himself, except in so far as he is caught up in his profession.

Yup, Johnny rocks. Keith would be a fool not to do this.
