But where Madonna goes, Britney is sure to follow. Madge sported Jewish symbols on her arm in the video for the James Bond theme song Die Another Day. She has been studying Kabbalah since 1997.

So both singers should really realise that tattoos are forbidden under Jewish law.

She should have had somebody do a bit of real research before she committed to an indelible mark on her skin. I would say about 80 percent of people with Chinese characters tattooed on their bodies have no idea that their tats are unreadable in Chinese or Japanese, or have a meaning something like "wheat farm power."

got some chinese word or something on her back. A chinese gal we both worked with saw the tat and was like "Um, you know that your tattoo is the name of a clothing store" and Ms. Tat didn't believe her.

Come to find out, the chinese gal was right---the tattoo parlor guy just had found a bunch of words in Chinese and Japanese that looked neat, or symbols that looked cool and put them on the store wall. He didn't know what they said. I think he told Ms. Tat that it said "peace" or something.

I think asshat would be "chovey shel yeshevan", or "hat of buttocks," unless the "of" that signifies "pertaining to" is different from the posessive "of" in which case that could mean "hat that belongs to the buttocks."
