Favorite scene from the Hitchhiker's Guide books
Edited on Mon May-03-04 03:38 PM by undisclosedlocation
Had to break up my series of "least favorite" threads. Me, I gotta go with Ford Prefect in Han Dold City, followed by the seance with Zaphod's great-grandfather, followed by just about anything involving Slartibartfast. Yours?

Edit: GOT to get me a new keyboard!
Editedit: Maybe folks were intimidated by "pentalogy":D

4. I like the feel of the scenes when Arthur and Ford end up on prehistoric
earth, with the Golgafrichans.

10. Yes, that was hysterical.
I especially liked when the Golgafrinchans decided to make leaves the legal tender currency and had to burn down several deciduous forests to control inflation.

7. The Saga of the Sandwichmaker
Arthur has found his calling - and a perfect idyllic life.

Then his daughter shows up to make his life "interesting". Then Ford shows up to destroy it.

8. My favorite metaphor of all time.
Edited on Mon May-03-04 08:35 PM by Ladyhawk
"The ships hung in the sky in much the same way bricks don't."

My favorite scene wasn't really a scene. It was the part in "Restaurant" about the universe and things you need to know to live in it: imports and exports, number of people (zero), etc.

On edit: I am still pissed that Adams died so young with so many projects still in the making.
