you punch in a name and they search several sources, including the S.S. index.

despite my feelings about mormonism, i am grateful that they put the site up. i've found out a lot of interesting things about my ancestors.
for example:
my great-great grandmother had six children. four died in the first two years of life. Another died around age 7. My great-grandfather was the only child to reach adulthood. And she outlived him, too. Plus, her husband died at 40 and she was a widow longer than she was married.
tough life. I plan to find her grave (it's in canada) and leave her some flowers just to honor her.
