Although I'm in my 40s, I was somehow completely unaware of their existence until a friend turned me on to them a few years ago. How could I have missed this group? I am now a huge Smiths and Morrissey fan. "Panic" is certainly appropriate for these times. I also like "Glamourous Glue" ("We won't vote Conservative...Because we never have...Everyone lies, everyone lies...")
"The devil will find work for idle hands to do I stole and I lied, and why ? Because you asked me to !"
If you ask me this would be the ideal few lines for shrub to sing to cheney.
The Smiths were a very British Group so it is understandable you didn't pick up on them at the time. Jonny Marr best Guitarist of his generation (IMHO). I'm on a reliving my youth streak at the moment, getting CD's of old Albums etc. I think I'll have to get some Smiths on CD.
Boot the grime of this world in the crotch dear, And don't go home tonight, Come out and find the one that you love and who loves you, one that you and who loves youuuuuuuuuuu ...
A Brit on this board means you miss some cultural signs. I wasn't sure if you were an American ( even though I know you are based in the UK and have UK on the end of your monicur). So I was unsure whether I should rack my brains for the Milk ad or if it was an American thing.
Now can you get "cool for cats" out of my head by moving on to another tune :-)
On edit well done on your speedy rise into the 200's. I've been here for a year and a half and you're catching up quick!
