Anyone here subscribe to "Real Simple" magazine? I just bought
a copy because my brother raves about it. So far I am impressed with how nice the pages feel. Apparently it costs money to save money and simplify one's life. And if this is a magazine about keeping things simple, why not keep it real simple and omit the 100 pages of ads???
What do you think of this magazine, did I just get an off issue? (sept.)
2. That sounds like something I'd be interested in.
I like finding ways to streamline and simplify my way of life. I do think it's a bit ironic, though, that they have all those ads. Contributing to our consumer culture and finding previously unknown "needs" is not my idea of simplification.
there is a recipe for cheddar cheese/tomato pie which I tried and which is easy to make and really, really good. At least this rag doesn't tell me how to get rid of the fat in my butt is 4 seconds or less!
My sister gave me a subscription for Xmas. It has absolutely nothing to do with real simplicity. There are pretty pictures and recipes and stories (actually some of the stories are good). But most of the tips and hints about simplifying your life are centered around things you can buy.
My husband alternates calling it "Real Complicated" and "Real Expensive". He absolutely hates it.
sucker the lcoal library to subscribe it either isn't worth or is too off the local political spectrum. Mooching online is easier though they don't let you access everything.
