This is a great piece of hate mail I received today.

My only regret is that the veterans currently at DUh, including you, weren't all KIA or otherwise died. Our country would be better off today without any of you here.

And to think, all of this time, we liberals thought that we only hated our country and its veterans!

Suddenly, their "worthy American" standard may not be met by those who merely put their lives on the line for America. Now, vets must hold neoconservative political beliefs, in addition to having served their country. I'm reminded of the essay by Martin Niemöller. This time they're coming for the patriots and we'd better speak up.

I am both a veteran and a liberal, having served in the U.S. Navy. And in my eyes, and in those of a lot of veterans, your comments to Mr. Smith put you on about the same level as rapists, child-molesters, and hate-filled lunatics who fly jet planes into skyscrapers.

You know,If I had died before 2000, I wouldn't have to live to see my country go through this goddamn nightmare that the people you support have created, so sometimes I think I might have been better off myself. I can't speak for the other vets here, only myself.

That's some line of reasoning you have there. Send troops off to fight for what YOU believe in and piss on whatever those troops might believe in, then hope the ones that disagree with you and your ilk don't come back and offend you with their freedom of speech. After all, using someone else's blood, sweat,tears and even their very lives to get what YOU want IS what right-wingers do best. I am sure with a comment like the one you made,YOU have never served a day yourself.

What about the Democrat vets serving in Iraq and Afghanistan right now, I am sure you want them dead too since you hate their freedom so much.

You are nothing but a treasonous traitor. And by the way, if you stepped out in front of a bus today and bought it, I am POSITIVE America would be a better place as a result.
