I Don't Start My New Job Until 9/8, What to Do?
I just got off the phone with my new employer. I am not slated to begin working for them until 9/8 (new budget and approval for my position was the reasons given).

With this, I have the next three weeks to myself. Without a job search to maintain, what would be the best use of my "free time?"

DUers, as always, I welcome your comments.

1. If you have a pool nearby
Go to the pool every day, read a book and swim. Doesn't cost a lot of money but it's relaxing and fun.

Also wardrobe reassessment (shopping?) now that you have time to get ready for that new position.

6. I have money
However, given the current state of the world, I am very reluctant to travel outside the US. Also, I don't want to burn up all my money.

7. Well, I'm just saying that's what I'D do...
You were asking for opinions, right?

If you don't want to go to Europe, go on a (cheaper) vacation here in the states--it's a nice time to visit New England--or how about Montreal or Quebec, Canada? Wonderful weather there this time of year.

9. Surf the net...
look for porn. ;)

Seriously though. A lot of the ideas so far are good one. Donate your time. Clean your place. Take some alone time to do what makes you happy 'cause lord knows the new job is gonna come with some stress and you probably won't have a lot of alone time for a little while.
