1. ok -
I thought they should not be planted until after May 15 - or did you plant them inside?? OR - do you live in a warm weather state!?

10. I planted 4 varieties of tomatoes in late January.
And the Cherry 100's are producing now. I also planted two types of peppers and they are also producing (jalapeño & banana). But then I live in Central Florida. Homegrown vegetables are the best kind without a doubt.

3. What kind of tomatoes?
I am partial to cherry tomatoes. You should look on the internet and see if you can find some "Sara's Mediterranian Sea Salt". If you have fresh cherry tomatoes and pour a little bit of olive oil over them and then sprinkle the sea salt...you have one delicious side dish!

My neighbors and my family cannot get enough! It is about 8.00 for a little jar but it will last you a year. Good stuff on fresh tomatoes.

(From one gardener to another! :) I have been busy planting myself. It feels so good!)

I like the smaller, but I want me some sauce! I use 5 gallon buckets with holes drilled in them for containers.

4. You are so lucky!
I live in an apartment so I have no place to plant anything. The best I can do is grow herbs in my windowsill.

One day, when I have a house, I'd love to plant tomatoes, especially cherry ones.

I wouldn't know where to start, though. I used to help my mom in her garden, and I remember her tomatoes always being attacked by those huge green bugs.

5. Why does my Basil
get black spots on it? Eventually, the black takes over and it is ruined. I've planted it in a container that is outside. I live in the south about 20 min from the Gulf so it is humid in the summer.

11. Wow, what zone are you in?
We're zone five and wouldn't think of putting in the tender plants for at least a couple more weeks.

12. want fabulous peppers? . . .
mix some epsom salts in water . . . water and spray your pepper plants with it . . . peppers crave the magnesium in the salts and respond by growing big and healthy . . . :)

p.s. let them establish themselves first . . . couple of weeks or so . . .

14. My sweet basil isn't doing well. I am going to plant more herbs this
week. I still have sage from last year.
I want edible flowers for salads. My husband wants to plant
rosemary. I love fresh herbs. Peppermint for drinks.

17. had my garden in since january.
18 tomato plants, cherry/big boys/sauce type. 18 pepper plants, sweet green/red/orange/yellow, anaheim hot, seranos, casacaellas. My broccoli has been harvested, the brussel sprouts bolted, the cukes are just starting to hit stride, it's been to hot for the beans and peas. This is my first year with a garden since 78 and what a learning experience. I'm in z9 or z10, west central fla.
