How do I add pictures to my post? (I am a big dummy!)
I saw that you can do it by adding the URL, but what about pictures that are in Xp's "my pictures" folder?

1. ok
Right click on a logo or image, go down to properties and copy the URL. Then paste it here.

4. What if there isn't a URL- the image is in my documents.
I tried but there isn't a URL, just the picture name ooo5o. Is there a way to post the picture from my camera to the message board?

5. Go to your isp's information pages
Most (last I knew) allow you to upload files to your own server space they give you. They usually provide directions on how to do it. See if that is available and check back here for more advice.

What company is your ISP (internet service provider)?

and they do offer 10MB of web space. To use that you'll have to learn how to 'ftp' the files.

Perhaps something like suggested below in the post about Photo Bucket would be the best thing for you to do at the moment. It's much easier.

6. I think you have to put those kind of pix on your website so that
they have an address. I don't understand it, but I tried it once -- unsuccessfully -- and I was told I needed to post them first to my website, then post them from there. Of course, I didn't have a website!

11. Easy
Host the picture here... http://www.photobucket.com/

It's totally free and then you can just get the url from Photo Bucket, paste it into your post and wullah! Done.

20. Suggestion: crop you image
As to the picture you finally got up, you might want to crop the image first to make it more manageable (take out the extreneous stuff) and give more impact to the intended subject. BTW was it supposed to be a picture of your foot or your barbecue grill?
:)
