The Capitol Steps just sent me their latest CD "Papa's Got a Brand New Baghdad." Other songs include 'Ain't No Surplus, Now It's gone,' 'I Wish I Was On Oxycontin,' and 'SuperCaliforniaRecallFreakShowWasAtrocious.'
I always hear them on NPR twice a year, not nearly enough. One of my true regrets about moving away from DC was not getting to see them live before I left.
i had seen them last august at Sanders Theatre in Harvard Square and went again a couple of weeks ago ...
they were good the first time ... the second time, i was really disappointed ... it seemed like about 80% or more of their material was the same ... you would think with all that's going on in the world they would have plenty of raw material to work with ...
on a brighter note, i do like that "lirty dords" stuff they do where they switch the first letters of words in a sentence ... it led to some fretty punny stuff ...
