My "running late for work" pic
I just got a new digital camera, fresh off the UPS truck last night. Playing with it made me get a late start heading for work today. Snapped this pic along the way

2. 100 mph in a car with 100k+miles and 1/8 tank of gas.
And you still have the ability to take a picture.

You got more guts than I have.

15. It's pretty deceptive

It is a very easy car to drive at 100. Actually,it's handling is smoother and silkier at 100 than it is at 55.

27. Agreed, assuming it's aligned and balanced, there isn't much difference
at all, it's when you get up around 130 that you ~really~ gotta pay attention!

10. 1995 Lincoln Mark VIII

I just put new rubber and new brakes all the way around or I wouldn't feel too comfortable pulling that off.

25. I noticed that too!
I thought "photoshop", then I said no, no way you'd get away with that here.

Our Saturn would probably have to be dropped out of a plane to reach 100 MPH :)

22. My left hand
is on the wheel, you just can't see it. I just grabbed the camera, held it up and snapped the pic without looking through the viewfinder or anything. I was amazed when I got to work and saw how good it turned out.

Yeah, that would be a trick on a bike. I have a Triumph Bonneville hardtail chopper I need to put back together when I get the time, and a HD sportster in a basket I am starting on. Just have to find some spare time to work on them :(

edit: yep,got there right on time.

my friend took the pic though, i wouldn't drive and take a pic at those speeds.

I'm suprised nobody has freaked out and flamed you for speeding.

16. I just hope
there aren't any Oklahoma Highway Patrol troopers on the board :wow:

Hell, that's on the Turner Turnpike here in Oklahoma. The speed limit is 75,but everybody drives 85-90 on the damn thing anyway,so I really wasn't going that much faster than anybody else.

17. speed differential is more dangerous than high speed anyway.
i've been up to 140 myself, and it's crazy how little control you have over your car up there. hang on and don't do anything sudden or....

19. Yep
A lot of it has to do with the car too. My Mark VIII is a $40k luxury/performance coupe designed to get it on.(I didn't buy it new, couldn't afford that)

If they didn't want it to go fast, they wouldn't have put a 290hp mill, power assisted rack and pinion steering and 4-wheel disc brakes on it. Still,I wouldnt reccomend just anybody doing it. I put in a fair amount of time on drag strips and dirt tracks in my younger days.

24. Actually
I had about 75 miles left worth of gas at that point, and 20 miles to work. I still managed 24 mpg today.(It has a digital screen thing on the dash that tells you all that neat stuff.) Most days I run 75-80 and manage 26-27 mpg.
