MY SON IS BORN!!!

Today at 2.35pm Norwegian time, my beautiful son was born at Ullevål hospital, Oslo. He weighs 4010 grams, is 53 cm long, and his name will be Aksel Lie-Olsen.

I want to share this unspeakably beautiful moment with you all. I'm a dad!! Pictures to follow soon!

I read a very cool article about Norway a couple of weeks ago where an American moved there, for work, and his pregnant wife was instantly insured. He went to some agency and asked, and the worker there told him , matter of factly, "You work here, you're covered". Once the baby was born they started recieving a monthly stipend for child care!

As the mother of a 19 year old (my only child), I HAVE to tell you... enjoy your baby! Time flys way too fast; even if it doesn't seem to within the day-to-day drudgery of diapers and bottles.

Oh and the years between 3&5 or 7&12.... enjoy those too. The lull between the storm I call them. Maybe it's different w/boys though. Hmmm. :freak: This is coming off less cheery then I meant.
