Do you ever just want to scream I DON'T CARE!!
When someone is talking about shit that means nothing, especially on days like today where many children have died and there's so much termoil. Sometimes I just want to scream at people talking about nothing like it means something. Am I alone?

2. At work, lots of times
I've attended way too many meetings that are dedicated to marketing our product. (I am an editor, not a marketer or a salesperson.) A lot of it is "how do we make our advertisers realize that advertising to this market is important?"

Guess what -- it's not. The world will continue to function without these ads.

I sat through one of these meetings on a day when we hit some sort of death milestone in Iraq, and I just wanted to shout that. I didn't, of course, because without advertisers I don't have a job. But it's hard to care. (Putting it into perspective -- I enjoy the actual work I do, and my decent salary and reasonable hours allow me time and discretionary income to do what I want to do on the side.)

I hope this gets better after the election.

3. Yes, but I remember we all handle things differently...
it's always about respecting everyone, even the people who seem oblivious to the world. Most of the time, people really don't say anything meaningful anyway...like right now...this really isn't saying anything..so I'll just shut up.

5. When I listen to the news
I am just totally blown away that our country has come to this and NOBODY'S DOING ANYTHING!!! 100 Americans killed this month in Iraq, more than 700 in all, and for what, thousands of Iraqis dead, the Israeli/Palestinian situation exploding daily, which Bush* continues to ignore, bin Laden still on the loose and plotting more horrors, our troops still in Afghanistan... What is next?! Last night I did scream. But nobody cares.

6. Actually, I frequently want to scream
"I don't F**ING care!!" The state of the world these days makes everything else seem so trivial by comparison and the "F" word really conveys my feelings more accurately.

I am afraid I am getting to the point where everything seems meaningless. It's difficult to maintain sanity when you are living in a madhouse.

Like when a customer whines, "You only delivered three of my prescriptions; I ordered four!" I just want to yell something like, "700 of ours soldiers have died in Iraq. You're lucky to even NEED that goddamned prescription!"
